Life Member CIA – Fellow ACI The American Concrete Institute (ACI) recently recognised 26 members from around the world with the rank of Fellow of the American Concrete Institute (FACI) at their Spring 2014 Convention in Reno, Nevada. Included among the group was Past President and recent Life Member of the Concrete Institute of Australia, Associate Professor Daksh Baweja. As stated in the ACI by-laws, a Fellow is an individual who has made “outstanding contributions to the production or use of concrete materials, products, and structures in the areas of education, research, development, design, construction, or management”. Including the new honourees, 762 members have attained the rank of FACI that was first established by the ACI in 1973. A/Prof Baweja was specifically recognised for his significant work over many years in concrete materials technology, research and sustainability, along with his contributions to the concrete industry in Australia and around the globe.
