Six monthly monitoring surveys are conducted by the CP consultant (Aurecon) to ensure protection of the structure and compliance with AS2832.5. Annual inspections of terminations and measurement of current return from each zone, girder and headstock are also conducted by the CP consultant (Aurecon). is management program has been a success, and provided excellent monitoring of the system and reliable protection for the structure. e monthly monitoring assists in early identification of minor maintenance requirements, allowing for planning of works during the six monthly monitoring surveys, thus reducing the need for additional "follow-up" inspections. 10. CONCLUSION is project has demonstrated how cathodic prevention can be a valid option for durability design of reinforced concrete structures. is type of system can assist in achieving the desired durability of a structure, which would have been difficult to achieve with traditional design methodologies alone. Good design and regular monitoring can ensure safe and reliable operation of cathodic protection or prevention systems even for structures, which include prestressed or post tensioned steel elements. Attention to detail during the design, a stringent QA system and good cooperation between all stakeholders throughout the design and construction process are required to ensure the successful implementation of such a system.
