Concrete In Australia : September 2011
Concrete in Australia Vol 37 No 3 17 Silver Members 2011 Awards for Excellence Judging of the 2011 Concrete Institute of Australia Awards for Excellence has been completed. Over two days the judges evaluated over 38 submissions in the categories: projects (including building and engineering projects), international projects, and technology (including intellectual materials, physical materials, products for sale, and services). e awards will be presented at the Biennial Conference being held this year in Perth from 12 to 14 October. is year, for the first time, the awards program has been expanded to include State Branch based awards which will be presented at State Branch functions throughout September. ese State Branch functions provide a fantastic opportunity for nominees and award winners to celebrate their achievements with team members, other stakeholders and the broader concrete industry. e Concrete Institute encourages all award nominees to attend their State Branch functions as well as Concrete 2011 in Perth to enjoy the public recognition of their achievements. In addition to the Awards for Excellence, the Recognition Committee has also provided recommendations to the National Council who have determined this year s recipients of Honorary and Life Memberships. ese prestigious awards recognise people who have made a significant contribution to the development and use of concrete in Australia or who have given long and other meritorious service to the Concrete Institute of Australia. Recipients of Honorary and Life Memberships will be acknowledged at the State Branch functions in September and their awards will be presented at Concrete 2011. e Concrete Institute of Australia would like to thank all those who submitted nominations as well as those who nominated individuals for Life and Honorary Membership. We would also like to acknowledge the time and effort of the Recognition Committee and judging panel, and thank them for the contribution they have made to the success of the program.
