Presented as an integral part of the Institute’s biennial conference cycle, Awards for Excellence are made in each of the following categories: • Building and Engineering Projects • International Projects • Technology Entrants in all categories can also nominate to be considered for a Sustainability Award, whilst Award Winners in the Building and Engineering Projects and Technology categories will be considered for the Insti- tute’s premium award: • The Kevin Cavanagh Medal for Excellence In Concrete PRESENTATION OF AWARDS The presentation of entries and winners of the Awards For Excellence are one of the high points of the Con- crete Institute’s biennial conference. A visual display of each entry is located in a central loca- tion, and the presentation of Awards to winning entries is a central feature of the gala dinner at the conclusion of the conference. BACKGROUND The Concrete Institute of Australia was established to encourage the development of concrete technology and practice in Australia, and to foster improvements in the standard of concrete construction. To recognise the many significant contributions to these objectives and to publicise the many excellent examples of concrete structures erected in Australia each year, the Institute established the Biennial Awards Scheme in 19 71. AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE CONCRETE 2015 will be held at the Pullman Albert Park Conference Centre in Melbourne. 30 August – 2 September, 2015 All Award Winners and entries will be also be present- ed in a special commemorative publication that will be distributed nationally.
